House Details- 6 Months Of Nesting.

Hey blogging world! Thought we'd have a little chat about life lately and do a little house detail update since we havn’t been blogging much over the summer and we’ve now been living together for half a year!!

Summer has been so nice, but so stressful! We don’t even know why, but it kind of took us 3 months to crack on with filling the house with bits, and the 3 months of summer was spent doing that. It’s only recently the place has started to feel like home, as we’ve been slowly buying bits and bobs and making it our own.

The house inside still feels quite empty, and there isn’t much on the walls yet. We want to tile the kitchen and get some art up to give it some character, and we also want to get some more things like lighting, candles, plants and cushions etc now that we have most of the main furniture. If you’ve moved into your own place, you’ll know how much of a task it is to furnish a house from nothing with limited funds!

With all the life admin that we’ve had to crack on with recently (albeit not so efficiently), we don’t really feel like we truly enjoyed our house this summer. It’s a constant task of making it look more homely, and by the time it got to July we’d accepted that the house wouldn’t look how we wanted it to yet.

Our focus has now turned to getting it looking more ‘together’ by Christmas, which we think is a more reasonable goal! We want to create a really cosy space for Autumn/Winter, as we'll be spending a lot more time here in the colder months.

There is still so much to do, and we’ve been slowly getting the garden started. The garden will be a years task really, as it’s too late to get flowers etc now, but we had our patio done, built our shed last month and painted it a cute rosemary colour. In the next few months we are going to dig the boarders and start planting some bits ready for them to flower in spring. We also need to get some garden furniture, so that will be something nice to do during the January sales ready for the warmer weather to return.

In terms of blogging- as we feel more settled in the house now and we’re not spending most of our evenings building or painting something, we’ll have a lot more time to document more! So hopefully the next 12 months will be filled with adventures and fun times! We have also been toying with the idea of Youtube recently, but not sure we’d go down the vlogging route. We definitely enjoy making films though, and we've been working on a DIY video which should be up when we've finished the project!

Hopefully see you around more often!
