Dear Diary- June & July 2016

We're back!! Apologies for our midsummer hiatus, but we've kinda just been enjoying the sun and spending some quality time together & with our friends and family.

June and July have been so eventful! There was Brexit (we both voted differently btw...incase you were curious), and there have been so many tragic things happening around the world, so to be honest we haven't been very inspired to get writing recently! But we've missed blogging and now it's time to fill you in!

Where We've Been

David: For me, the 2 stand out places we've been in the last couple of months is Castle Ashby Gardens & going to Cromer for the weekend. Castle Ashby is great as it's so good for taking photos, and Cromer was nice as it was really the first holiday that I've had with Hayley's mum & brother. We're all going away to Cornwall at the end of August, I've never been so I can't wait for that too!

Hayley: June and July have been a very busy couple of months. As David mentioned, we went to Castle Ashby Gardens on our anniversary weekend (which we'll share pics with you this week). I spent a lot of time in June in and out of garden centres. I've really got into gardening (just learning at the moment, not doing), so it's been nice planning how I want our garden to be. We also went to visit my Dad for a late fathers day weekend, I visited a my friend in Leeds with a few of the girlies and we had a lovely weekend away in Cromer with my family.

What We've Been Watching

David:  Since Hayley made the wise decision to get Netflix, I've started watching more and more different shows. The main ones being American Horror Story (from the beginning) & Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. I've also started watching parts of Master of Photography on Sky Arts, but I'm not too sure if I like it just yet!

Hayley: I finished up Made in Chelsea, and i'm excited to watch the south of France special thats starting tonight! In June we re-watched Gavin & Stacey which we usually do once or twice a year! It's like my comfort TV! It took me a little while but I finally got Netflixs and watched series 4 of Orange Is The New Black which was AMAZING, my favourite series so far! Our go-to TV in the evenings has been the Ricky Gervais Show, as David bought it on DVD a little while ago.

What We've Been Listening To

David: I've been listening to a lot of Red Hot Chili Peppers, new and old stuff! I love their new song Dark Necessities, and it made want to go back and listen to their By The Way album. I never had a physical copy of the album when it came out, so I recently bought it in ASDA for £5. That has been playing on repeat in the car for a couple of weeks now!

Hayley: Like David, i've been really loving the Chilli's new music! Their new song is really reminiscent of their older stuff which I love. As well as that I've been loving Glass Animals, Tame Impala, Beyonce, M.O & Meghan Trainor!

What We've Bought

David: Recently I decided to treat myself and buy a Nintendo 3DS. Both my brothers have one and I thought it would be fun to join in/play games online together. As we all live in separate places I thought it would be a fun way to keep in touch! I've never been much of a gamer until now, and I literally can't think of the last time I bought a games console!

Hayley: Most of our purchases have been home stuff really! We finally got our sofa delivered in June, and now we're just waiting for our shed to come! We also made a big purchase and had the paving in our garden extended (so we have a place to stand the shed and some seating). In June I bought 2 chairs for £10 to reupholster, and i'm actually documenting that through video...which i'm looking forward to editing and uploading!

Lessons Learned And Reflections

David: Make the most of time spent with people while they're around, as you can never get the time back!

Hayley: Not my words, but "Just because you're offended, doesn't mean you're right." Oh, and your boyfriend will never be too old for Pokemon!
