Finally it's summer! We've been away on our hols, but we're back with a recap of the month!
Where we've been
David: We've recently got back from our exciting trip to Italy, so expect photos from that soon! Aside from that I've been getting out of the office more to do location photoshoots for work.
Hayley: This month has mainly been a relaxing stay at home/walking Ernie kind of month! We had to put this months house savings into our spending money for Italy, and things were overall quite tight! But on the 24th June we jetted off on our 10 year anniversary trip! First we flew to Venice for 2 nights, and then flew to Sorrento for 5 nights. We will be doing posts about our holiday this weekend, so keep your eyes peeled if you fancy a read!
What we've been watching
David: 2 words - Jurassic World. Blew me away! Was such a great action packed film and the effects were awesome. Lots of cool references to the first film too. I'm also still trying to finish Game of Thrones season 5 whilst avoiding spoilers, which has seemed almost impossible!
Hayley: We have almost finished Game of Thrones series 5! We literally have 2 more episodes to watch! I had even managed to avoid the ending spoilers until I read it in a magazine on the way to Italy!! Oh well! When we finish Game of Thrones i'll have Orange Is The New Black to mourn the end of GOT (for now..)
What we've been listening to
David: After hearing all the stuff about Taylor Swift vs Apple, and people constantly banging on about how good her 1989 album is, I thought I'd give it a listen. I'm pretty open minded with music so I'll give anything a chance, but I was really impressed by it!
Hayley: I made a holiday playlist, and on there was Tinie Tempah ft. Jess Glynne - Not Letting Go. It has really become my summer anthem, and i'm just in love with the song/video. I have also started listening to Years and Years more after seeing them on TFI Friday a few weeks back. I'd love to get their album soon.
What we've been wearing
David: I've got back into wearing caps again for the first time in years, and I spoke about the one I purchased here. I've also been wearing pastel coloured tailored shorts in this hot weather and a few bracelets too.
Hayley: I put together a little outfit list to help me pack for holiday, and it really worked! I had a different outfit (nearly) for every day and night. I'll be doing a style post about what I wore later on this week.
What we've been eating
David: Amongst other fun things, I'll always associate our Italy trip with having loads of pizza and ice cream. The Margherita pizzas were the best I've ever tasted, and also the cheapest. The pistachio ice cream was also personal favourite when I had a bit of sweet tooth too.
Hayley: I have really enjoyed the Pimm's new cider that is out at the moment! You can actually taste the cucumber which I think is really lovely. The last month of not eating pasta was such a struggle, but as soon as I stepped off the plane I was off to find some! I ate pasta every single day. I regret nothing!
What we've bought
David: A nice new pair of sunglasses for the summer. Recently broke my old pair by sitting on them. Oops!
Hayley: Apart from the odd holiday purchase, I really didn't spend much this month. Even on holiday, we didn't buy a lot of 'tut'- just some nice pieces for when we buy our house! We'll also be doing a post on what we bought on the blog later on.
Lessons learned and reflections
David: When things are looking bad, keep your head up and stay positive!
Hayley: Don't get too down when you fail, just try again! Also, try to relax and go with the flow a bit more.
