Like Hayley, I too have been buying a few things in prep for our seven days in Italy..
For this post, I've narrowed it down to the top 3 things that I've been spending my money on!
Short Sleeve Shirts
Despite preferring long sleeve, short sleeve was obviously the more practical option for a summer getaway. I ended up buying far more shirts than actual t-shirts as I was more concerned about having something nice to wear when going out for dinner. I love a good quality shirt with an interesting pattern or texture, and these 3 ticked those boxes for me.
As I'm so used to wearing beanies no matter what time of year it is, I realised I hadn't worn a cap in years. I honestly think the last time I wore a cap was when I had long hair at the age of 15, so at least 10 years ago! So, as you can imagine this purchase took a bit of persuading..
I tried this particular one on after it caught Hayley's eye in Two Seasons. I was surprised it even suited me, but I just love the pattern and the suede peak is super soft too!
Contax Aria camera + film
This was a rather elaborate purchase for me, but I had been thinking about buying a camera like this since the days of Uni 3 years ago!
After thinking about what film slr cameras of mine to bring on holiday, I realised than none of mine were quick and fast to use. They all require the fiddling of various dials and switches (which I don't mind, but it isn't practical for being on the move in Venice, trying to see as many sights as you can in 2 days!)
For me, the selling point for the camera is the motor drive which advances the film automatically (gone are my days of winding the film on with a little lever!)
It also boasts a super fast f/1.4 aperture lens, so I'll be able to shoot in all sorts of lighting conditions.
The film that I'll be bringing with me is Kodak Portra 400. It costs an arm and a leg as it's one of the most fine grain 35mm films you can buy (hence why I got it for Christmas and I've been saving it until now!) I have 10 rolls ready to bring with me, along with some Poundland film as a back up!
What are your top 3 things to bring on Holiday?
