A couple of weeks ago I went to London with work to spend the day at the Chelsea Flower Show.
My job was to photograph the gardens and displays for our social media channels, and boy was there a lot to choose from!
I'd never been there before so I didn't really know what to expect, but I was amazed by the sheer scale of the show. There were some real inventive gardens on show, ranging from large scale plots to the more modest in size, and the most colourful displays you've ever seen to the more subtle of gardens.
What amazed me was how conceptual and ideas based every garden was. I had no idea that like any artist, these Gardeners & Designers were creating pieces with a entire story behind them, rather than just a display which is pretty to look at.
If you're visiting as a member of the public there was plenty more to enjoy than than just the gardens though. There was live music being played on stage all day, plenty of places to eat and also a Pimm's bar!
We were actually lucky with the weather on the day, and at one point it was so hot I even spotted people laying asleep on the grass!
